Residential Complex Oberer Lyngsberg in Bonn-Godesberg

Above Bonn-Bad Godesberg, on the highest Rhine terrace, opposite the Siebengebirge hills, the Heiderhof demonstration housing project, comprising approximately 1,600 apartments for around 6,000 residents, was built between 1962 and 1968. To the east of this large development lies a roughly 25-hectare former mining area that slopes gently into the Rhine valley. This overgrown mining area, where quartzite and clay were extracted in open-pit mines around the turn of the century, was designated as a building area in the 1965 land-use plan.
