After the first construction phase, the factory hall covers a footprint of 180 x 180 m; it can be expanded on the underlying 30 x 30 m grid. The entire building is designed so that the production floor is situated above the other rooms of the factory, as this floor, primarily to allow for the flexible arrangement of its machinery and production processes, was intended to be column-free. The entire building structure was designed accordingly. While the column system of the lower floors supports the load-bearing ceilings, the ceiling of the factory hall is suspended from the lattice structure of the roof.
