A popular tourist destination on the Weser River with a medieval townscape (the town of the famous Baron Hieronymus von Münchhausen). The post office is located directly next to the Weser bridge; it is bordered on one side by the gardens in the Weser's floodplain (later the Weser Promenade), and on the other side by the town centre parking lot opposite the Münchhausen House (now the town hall). Opposite the post office is the access path to the steamboat landing. In front of the post office is a widened sidewalk with a large canopy to protect the relatively numerous postal customers for such a small town.
