In this village, which was incorporated into the city of Braunschweig in 1974, the new post office had to fulfill the functions of both a village post office with independent mail delivery and a future city-wide post office (where delivery would be handled centrally by the main post office) without any additional effort. As part of the construction of a community centre with a kindergarten, fire station, municipal administration building, and community centre, the post office could also be built in conjunction with the existing structure.
