Protestant Parsonage in Schmalfeld
The rectory, as a distinctive focal point formally contrasting with the surrounding monotonous buildings, marks the entrance to the new church and forms a conceptual unit with it. The elongated building shape reflects the length of the plot. The unique character of this house—as both a residence and a semi-public space for the parish—is expressed in both its external design and its spatial layout: The floor plan was conceived to separate the areas for public activities and living quarters. The different residential levels support this distinct use.
