Concept: The house is situated on a long, sloping ridge offering panoramic views across Lörrach and into Switzerland. The building design had to take into account the steep gradient of the site and the building regulations applicable to this terrain. Room Layout: The client specified a concrete concept for the room layout: The children's area was to be designed as a self-contained unit with its own bathroom and entrance, so that it could later be used as a separate apartment after the children had moved out. The utility area, with kitchen and adjoining storage room, was to be designed so that the homemaker would not feel isolated while working in this area, but would have visual and auditory contact with the family, while still easily accessing the main entrance.
