Church Roof, Protestant Community Centre Bensberg-Refrath
Four individual foundations at the corners, diagonally connected by two reinforced concrete tie rods, form the foundation for the space-defining roof structure. Gravel-filled collection basins for roof drainage are located at the foundations. The roof structure is self-supporting, without any connection to the walls of the room. Glulam beams, with cross-sections corresponding to the respective spans, are arranged radially on the corner foundations and hinged in steel brackets.
