This new recreation and sports centre was built in a high valley of the eastern Pyrenees, near the snow line. It is surrounded by wooded mountain slopes, mountain streams, and ski runs. The site-specific complex was built on a gently spiraling hillside. Its vertical development is strongly defined by sloping and winding levels, which necessitate lively changes of direction when ascending and descending; these changes were deliberately integrated into the overall spatial experience. Every detail was designed with a nuanced orientation towards the surrounding nature, both for the apartments themselves and for the spaces between the buildings, in pleasing, socially engaging proportions.
