Gelsenkirchen Central Baths
The central swimming pool occupies a highly prominent urban location. It is part of a cultural and sports centre situated in the heart of the old town, which also includes a sports hall complex (built by the same architect), a music theatre adjacent to the swimming pool, and an adult education centre. This entire complex forms part of the consolidated development for the southwestern area of the theatre square. A pedestrian bridge approximately 100 metres long will lead from the theatre square across Overwegstraße to the swimming pool, connecting it to a second pedestrian level. The lower level will provide access to the swimming pool, while the upper level will house the entrance for spectators in the stands.
