Basketball Hall

The basketball arena located in the south of Munich is a special type of LP circular sports hall with 36 bays, developed by the company Dörken & Fröhlich of Gevelsberg. It is covered by a conical shell suspended roof. The base diameter is approximately 100 m, the diameter of the conical roof's compression ring is 72 m, and the height, including the basement, is 19.20 m. Fixed stands provide 4,836 spectator seats, and retractable telescopic stands offer an additional 1,308 seats. During the Olympic Games, the basketball and judo competitions will take place here. After the Olympics, the building is intended to serve the city of Munich as a multi-purpose hall. The entire complex, including an attached restaurant, a heating plant, and a caretaker's apartment, comprises approximately 104,500 cubic metres of enclosed space and 12,200 square metres of usable and circulation area.
