The ten-storey ward building is based on a double-corridor system as its design principle, aiming to minimize staff travel distances. All service areas are located along the building's central axis, resulting in an east-west orientation instead of the usual north-south orientation, thus ensuring even sunlight exposure in the patient rooms. The six-bed rooms are situated on the west side and are interconnected by a sanitary corridor containing patient lockers, laundry hatches, and toilets. A parallel corridor serves as the main circulation route.
