University Library in Toronto
In its location and design, the library building forms a harmonious transition between the other buildings of the university complex and the surrounding hills. The library emphasizes, on the one hand, the axial development between the social sciences building and the main entrance to the plaza, and on the other hand, the imaginary diagonal axis that leads across the plaza into the open countryside. The accentuated corner of the building, with its bridges beneath the staggered, cantilevered levels, creates a natural entrance zone to the plaza forum.
