Extension Building of the Vilshofen Gymnasium
The winning design for the extension of the Vilshofen Gymnasium, selected through a competition, is conceived with a view to changes in the school system (dissolving traditional classes in favour of a more flexible system), the use of new teaching aids (film, projectors, computers), and future expansion possibilities. The floor plan, the self-supporting construction principle divided into small units, and the consideration of potential subsequent installations are all derived from the concept of maximum flexibility and spatial adaptability.
