The building's original character, preserved through its continuous use as a riding hall, had been retained: a large, continuous hall with sparsely articulated brick exterior walls and a light, gabled roof supported by iron girders and a tensioning system. During the renovation, care was taken to preserve the open space as much as possible, despite the necessary installations, while developing a design language that both corresponds to the traditional, technical spatial characteristics and reflects contemporary engineering.
