The tennis centre in Grefrath near Düsseldorf, opened in 1969, was constructed using glued laminated timber. Six tennis courts are housed under a roof structure with a 76-metre span. Two glued laminated timber structures, each with a 38-metre span, bridge the 53 x 76.73-metre hall. The trusses are spaced 5.30 metres apart, and the roof pitch is 9°. This is based on two three-hinged frames with a common central support, which is rigidly connected to the truss beam.
