The building had to accommodate diverse requirements for its future use, both spatially and technically. It is designed to allow for the creation of large spaces spanning an entire floor, which can be subdivided using variable partitions and cabinets. The floors are finished in completely different configurations. Based on preliminary investigations, a seven-storey, fully-basemented building with a square footprint was chosen, based on a structural grid of 7.5 x 7.5 metres, a facade, room, and cabinet grid of 1.25 metres, and a ceiling grid of 62.5 centimeters. Due to the high water table, the building was constructed within a watertight basin. The structure was built as a reinforced concrete frame with a pre-hung, lightweight metal facade. The square, load-bearing, and bracing core contains the stairwell, elevators, restrooms, a kitchenette and a utility room on each floor, as well as two service shafts.
