Swiss School in Naples

The school was built by the Swiss Confederation. Under the direction of the Ispettorato delle Construzioni Federali (Federal Inspectorate of Construction), Lugano, architect Arnoldo Codoni coordinated the entire construction project. The project was completed within the budget approved by Parliament. The playground with its outdoor equipment is located two metres lower than Via Manzoni at the main entrance, in the uppermost part of the site. An access ramp leads to the canopy above the main entrance. A gentle ramp provides access to the kindergarten. Two kindergarten rooms are accessed via a shared cloakroom. The roof of the gymnasium serves as the kindergarten's outdoor playground. The canopy above the main entrance acts as a covered break area. From the entrance, a staircase leads to the central hall containing the teachers' room, the school office, and the principal's office. Two staircases connect this hall to the gymnasium wing on one side and the classroom wing on the other. Between these wing and the main hall are the common areas and, open to the passageway, the refectory.
