Family Summer House on the Old Danube

A small holiday home was built on a plot of approximately 300 m², constructed on two levels due to building regulations. The ground floor, illuminated by a sunken sun terrace and containing utility rooms and a shower room, along with a living room and bedroom on the main floor, determined the floor plan, which had to be accommodated within the tight confines of the plot. The house serves as a summer house for a family with two children during the summer months and on Sundays and holidays during the warmer seasons, where an open, outdoor lifestyle with easy access to the nearby beach was highly desirable. A small terrace for sitting and lounging extends from the living area. The form and character of the house resulted not only from the timber construction but also from the building regulations applicable to this allotment garden area.
