Aircraft Hangar in Hanover
The site takes into account potential expansions of the passenger handling facilities and allows for the construction of additional large aircraft hangars on the site. Its proximity to the southern runway is a factor in determining the required clearance from the runway and the electronic equipment necessary for its operation. The large aircraft hangar has a clear length of 100.4 m, a clear door height of 14.5 m, and a clear depth of 67.4 m. The top of the hangar is 20.3 m above ground level. Rolled sections were chosen for the beams and columns. The solid wall surfaces consist of plastic-coated trapezoidal sheets with internal mineral fibre insulation. The connections between the trapezoidal sheets and the hangar roof accommodate structural movement. Thermal insulation complies with DIN 4108 for thermal insulation zone II.
