The dolphinarium at Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg comprises a show and public building and an adjacent service building. The show building, with its laminated timber roof, contains the show pool, a stage, and tiered seating for the public. The exterior walls are constructed of thermocrete concrete, and the roof structure consists of curved, prefabricated Hetzer trusses. The roof is a warm roof with cork insulation. The grandstand structure, including columns, beams, trusses, and angled steps, is made of precast concrete. The wooden windows are fitted with wired glass. Heating is provided by large-capacity warm air units.
