Standard Bank Centre Johannesburg
The site of the new Standard Bank Centre is located opposite the Stock Exchange in Johannesburg's financial district (a pedestrian walkway connects it to the Stock Exchange). The 139-metre-high, 35-storey office building was positioned in the northeast corner of the site to maximize the available space. With the exception of the entrance hall (16% of the site area), the entire site is open to the public. A second pedestrian level, connected to the ground floor by six escalators, houses a banking hall and a small shopping centre with five shops and an art gallery.
