House of Adult Education in Essen
The ground floor is staggered into two levels, taking advantage of the slope of the land, with a height difference of 2.50 metres: The entrance hall connects the lower-level foyer of the lecture halls and the auditorium foyer, located half a level higher, with the cafeteria. The lecture hall foyer (with direct access from the lower street) is connected to the forum for "cultural events." To the west of this central entrance area and forum are the hobby rooms on the lower level, and the classrooms, group rooms, and social spaces on the upper levels. These areas are all oriented away from noise; the administrative offices face the street at the rear.
