Television Centre of Sender Freies Berlin
The core of the complex is the workshop hall on studio level, with the scenery storage area below. It is a steel structure. The hall measures 34 x 55 metres with a clear height of 6 metres and no central columns. Deliveries from the depot are made via a scenery lift (5 x 8 metres footprint, 6.0 metres high, accessible by truck). Adjoining to the south, a three-storey wing houses smaller workshops, drawing rooms, offices, etc. The first basement level accommodates film and television crews. Building section 2 comprises three large production studios: Studio A (800 sq m) and Studio C (560 sq m), each with a rehearsal studio of the same size below. Access is via Studio Street, which connects the studios and the workshop. Each studio has a 6 x 6 metre lifting door.
