Residential Buildings in Zurich Constructed Using Precast Concrete Elements
The present project was commissioned by the City of Zurich's Building Authority in the autumn of 1960 and awarded to five architectural firms. The site to be developed, approximately 41,500 m², was partly owned by the city and partly by private landowners. For the private development – now under construction in the eastern part – only the mass distribution plan was declared binding. The further development of the city-owned buildings was entrusted to the architectural firm Pauli + Volland. Scheduling and coordination of the wall elements was handled by Systembau AG, Zurich.
