School Building System with Prefabricated Concrete Elements

The school in Mutterstadt (example) was assembled within one week. The interior finishing work took four weeks. The radiators and pipes for the heating system could be prefabricated and installed according to a standardized grid. Because the rectangular pipes were laid in coils, resembling skirting boards, no pipe channels were required for the individual classroom wings, which had no basements. The plumbing fixtures were always installed in the same location within prefabricated steel sections in the stairwells, using identical slots.
