The external IPE 160 towers, together with the six steel tube supports (diameter 650/590 mm), form the load-bearing structure of the Tropicarium. The three tall tube supports, with Diwidag prestressing steels and tendons at the base anchored in the surrounding concrete parapet, and together with similar prestressing steels between the tube supports at the tops in a triangular configuration, absorb the wind forces.
