Student Hostel in Göttingen
Location and Construction Program: The student residence for 62 students is conveniently located near both the new and old university facilities and, together with four other student residences and a residence for student couples currently under construction, forms a small residential centre. The program envisioned five shared apartments, each consisting of student rooms and adjoining kitchenettes and bathrooms. A larger common room was to be planned for every two shared apartments. The implemented design features two shared apartments each on the two lower floors, with 15 and 8 rooms respectively, and a 12-room shared apartment and a two-room apartment with an adjoining roof terrace for the tutor on the second floor.
