Foundation: Due to the existing underground infrastructure (subway, restrooms, drainage system) and the planned escalators to the subway station, the foundations exceed the otherwise required dimensions. Therefore, some foundations are supported by driven piles. Construction: All basement walls are constructed of masonry or poured concrete according to structural calculations. The basement ceilings are reinforced concrete slabs. All load-bearing elements above are supported by skeletal columns with a 5.50 x 5.50 m grid, made of steel tubular profiles (0 = 244.5 mm, t = 8 or 25 mm). All connections within the steel frame are bolted according to the relevant DIN standards. The steel frame is infilled with aerated concrete panels.
