The main frame consists of box sections that are sufficiently rigid to eliminate the need for external bracing and allowed for variations in the section depth (for maximum weight reduction). Each box section has an overhanging flange at each end, which served as a fixed support for the welding fixtures and also supported the purlins, thus eliminating the need for clamps and mounting plates. The entire roof is suspended from a cable system. The cables are suspended from the mast tops by stirrups and from there connected to the main girders and outer supports, also by stirrups.
