The supporting structure consists of four steel columns from which a horizontal steel frame with diagonal steel tube tie rods is suspended. The upper walls are constructed of sheathed timber framing, the lower walls of brick and rubble stone. The supporting structure is the defining design element and is therefore left visible from both the exterior and interior. The diagonal tie rods are echoed in the slopes of the wooden exterior staircases.
