House in Irland

The house is located in the south of Dublin, on the slopes of the Wicklow Mountains, which descend towards the city and the sea. The somewhat isolated location, the harsh climate, and the desire to live as secluded as possible led to the fundamental idea of an inward-looking house for living and working (the owner and his wife are sculptors). The living quarters for the parents and their four sons are grouped around a square courtyard. All the rooms open wide onto this courtyard. The courtyard itself is surrounded by round wooden posts (telegraph poles) that support the trusses of the inward-sloping roof.
