Church in Kehlen near Friedrichshafen/Lake Constance
Location and local conditions: The extensive areas of land bordering Lake Constance are very unsuitable for building. The older church, located on the same site, had subsided so severely that it had become dilapidated and had to be demolished. The old site was retained for the new church primarily because the rectory, the convent, and the kindergarten were already located there in close proximity. Furthermore, the new town centre did not offer satisfactory conditions for the orderly planning of the church building.
