Faculty of Architecture, University of Strathclyde/England

Building and Space Program: This faculty building (the first new architecture school building in England in 30 years!) marked the beginning of the university's major building program. The plan was drawn up by the architect who had been commissioned to establish the faculty. At the time the plans were finalized (1963), the university anticipated 260 students and 24 faculty members; these numbers have since increased. - Building Concept: Each student has a permanent studio space for working and storing their study materials, similar to a typical workspace in an architect's office.
