Auditorium of the Aarau Vocational School
Building and spatial program: In the project, which emerged from a competition, the auditorium area forms a building that closes off the schoolyard to the west. It comprises a rising lecture hall with 230 to a maximum of 280 seats, below which are the foyer and, adjoining the lecture hall to the west, the caretaker's apartment, the air-raid shelter, and a bicycle storage room. To ensure optimal natural light for every seat, the lecture hall was entirely glazed on the north and south sides. This also allowed the impressive group of trees located to the south of the auditorium to be integrated into the space.
