Administrative Building in Düsseldorf
Construction: A prefabricated structure is suspended from the cast-in-place concrete core, which absorbs all wind forces. The ceilings, beams, columns, and wedge-shaped exterior walls were prefabricated in a field factory. A suspended lightweight metal facade (see page 39) is used. Fixed windows with double-glazed insulating glass. A steel-framed sunshade balcony with aluminium panels (also for window cleaning and maintenance) is included. The roof is a warm roof covered with percale gravel.
