Dr. Lichtenhan's Residence in Carabbia/Ticino
The house is constructed from modular units with equal axial spacing of approximately 3 metres. Parallel load-bearing walls and pillars support concrete beams. Prefabricated, circularly curved ribs, constructed from clay elements and infilled with hollow clay blocks, are placed between the beams. The horizontal thrust of the vaults is absorbed by the concrete cornices. (Various terraced and detached houses with diverse room layouts were designed from the same modular units.)
