In planning the "Tour du Midi," located in the immediate vicinity of the Garde du Midi in Brussels, the client (the Employees' Pension Fund) pursued three objectives: 1. Centralization and rationalization of administrative work. 2. A favorable location for the building with the possibility of leasing a large portion of the high-rise. 3. The opportunity to expand its own services. The aforementioned group of architects, under the direction of J. F. Petit, was commissioned to study the project.
