Covered gas stations with attendant rooms were to be built on both sides of the road. They were not intended to stand out as incongruous elements in the landscape, unlike the more common, standardized gas station designs. The construction was carried out using exposed concrete, which blended well into the landscape in terms of both appearance and material, while requiring relatively little mass. Due to the road's gradient, a construction using prefabricated concrete panels was not feasible. The slopes of the mushroom-shaped structures (edge-to-ground clearance: 10.80 m; shell thickness 10 cm) run approximately parallel to the hilltops in both directions.
