The building is located in a densely populated outer district of the city. The development plan required construction along the existing, relatively narrow streets. To nevertheless achieve expansive views from the apartments, most windows were positioned diagonally to the street frontage; the few windows parallel to the front were set back as far as possible. The relatively large balconies were arranged to prevent neighbors from seeing in. The load-bearing structure was built of reinforced concrete. All exterior walls are constructed of double-leaf brickwork; exposed brick on the outside, and largely plastered on the inside.
