Art Academy in Naniwa/Japan
These buildings represent the first phase of a larger construction complex. It is divided into three units; two of them (A and B) are for academic study, and one (C) for the associated practical work. The study buildings comprise a three-storey, a four-storey, and a one-storey section. The internal layout and staggered arrangement of the multi-storey buildings is designed to create rooms of varying sizes, based on a swastika-shaped floor plan, corresponding to the teaching requirements of the different disciplines.
