The projecting, thick frame presents some structural challenges, which can be overcome by using waterproof adhesive (resorcinol wood glue) and selected, high-quality, dry wood. The wall connection is made with a cover strip and permanently elastic sealant. The projecting frame provides a structurally sound solution for the lattice connection. A weatherstrip is not strictly necessary here.
