The relatively small, polygonal plot was jointly purchased and divided by two owners. The authorities permitted construction on two-fifths of the plot and approved single-storey buildings with shallow roofs. A front garden width of 5.0 m and a clear sightline had to be maintained. This allowed for the construction of two adjoining houses with identical floor plans (799 and 685 m³ of enclosed volume, respectively; 199 and 148 m² of living space, respectively). The living rooms and children's rooms are oriented towards the sun around the inner courtyards. The house entrances face different streets. Despite the close proximity, a sense of privacy is achieved.
