1 tiled heating wall with multi-fuel insert. Design and execution: Franz Eska, Munich. The tiles feature a glazed interplay between white and blackish-grey. The tiled stove was manufactured using the "overcasting technique." In this process, the individual tiles are not formed; instead, the entire stove is constructed in its original size and then cut into individual elements. These elements are then glazed, fired, and reassembled into the stove. (The objects shown on the following pages with image numbers 9, 14, 19, and 22 were also manufactured using this method.)
