Vocational School in Aschaffenburg

Aschaffenburg Municipal Vocational School. Architect: Dipl.-Ing. G. Schlegel, Darmstadt; Collaborator: Dipl.-Ing. Keßler. Location, Development: Aschaffenburg lies on the eastern side of a bend in the Main River, which surrounds it on three sides. The opposite left bank of the Main has been sparsely developed due to the risk of flooding. It is currently being made flood-proof by embankment and developed for a school centre conveniently located for the various districts of the city. The vocational school is part of this centre; however, it is separated from it by the approach ramp to the new Main bridge (a pedestrian bridge is planned). The majority of students arrive from the east or northeast (train station), either on foot along the Main riverbank or by car via Leiderer Stadtweg.
