In the steel structure of the buildings, the steel columns are fixed into the foundation slab. This eliminated the need for wind bracing, which would have required additional diagonal bracing (with potentially visible bolts). In the fire engine bay, the two-hinged frames are also fixed longitudinally, thus eliminating the need for wind bracing here as well. In the tower, the masonry core transfers all horizontal loads to the surrounding steel frame. This steel frame, designed as a two-level, multi-storey structure, features butt-welded profiles.
