Self-supporting Church Concrete Shell Roof

Regarding the building's construction: The load-bearing walls are built of plastered masonry. The roof was constructed with eleven prestressed, self-supporting concrete shells (HP system "Normko") of varying lengths, spaced approximately 1.50 m apart from one another, from exterior wall to exterior wall. The longest shells are 23.45 m long, the shortest (entrance canopy) 16.30 m. The spaces above the church interior are closed with Siporex panels. The altar area receives light through a glass skylight. Above the parish rooms, the spacing between the shells is approximately 1.30 m, and these are covered with pre-formed, transparent "Solvay" corrugated PVC skylights.
