Dual School Complex in Stuttgart
Concept: The guiding principles for this dual school complex were simple and clear spatial arrangements, few stairs, and a number of small, sheltered courtyards. On the relatively limited site, a highly concentrated, terraced layout was constructed, organized around two inner courtyards and set back as much as possible from the surrounding residential buildings. Continuous balconies, which also serve as fire exits as required by fire regulations, emphasize this separation from the neighbourhood.
