Shell-like walls, extending above the roof level to form parapets of sheltered areas, create interconnected groups of spaces. The 20 cm thick walls were constructed using 7.5 to 20 cm wide sections of plywood, with the butt joints left raw and unsealed. To protect against frost damage, any defects were repaired with special mortar; the entire exterior surface was then coated with silicone.
