For reasons of economy and to achieve slender columns, the fully glazed steel structure was suspended from the reinforced concrete slabs between the ground floor, first floor, and roof. The vertical rectangular tubes (90/60/5 mm) are bolted to the back of equal-leg T-shaped steel profiles (60/60/7 mm), which, in conjunction with wooden glazing beads (27/48 mm), form the rebates for fixed (mirror glass) glazing. The horizontal ceiling bands were constructed using 7 mm thick sheet metal. Their backs support continuous steel angles (80/50/6 mm and 60/60/6 mm) for bracing and for mounting infill panels.
