Country House near Stresa/Lake Maggiore
The house sits atop a hill and is positioned lengthwise parallel to the slope. The partially finished basement contains the garage and utility rooms, while the ground floor houses the main living areas and a bedroom/bathroom suite. The partially finished attic contains further bedrooms and a bathroom. The load-bearing structure is a reinforced concrete frame. The infill walls in the basement are constructed of rubble masonry, while those in the upper floors are made of brick. The recessed gable end is clad with Douglas fir boards. The projecting section of the upper floor rests on steel tube columns, creating a covered walkway.
